R, J and I have been profiting from the fruits of our labours, literally. The hedges around the halls are laden with blackberries in various stages of ripening, and we've spent several evenings among them, picking out the ripe ones. And they're oh-so-yummy, especially with cream and sugar! J and I have made a blackberry sauce as well, to go with J's chocolate cake. This is summer (though I read somewhere that blackberries come out in autumn?!) !!
