... or rather, has burst out of the gates and raced to the end without letting me breathe in the process. From the anxiety of finals to the exhiliration of success, and the sometimes frantic preparation for the family's arrival and things beyond (most of which aren't settled yet) June has been one crazy roller-coaster ride. And with the convocation ceremony over today and the end of June tomorrow, I think I can afford some time to reflect on what's happened, as we've been told we must do as doctors.
With reflection comes thanksgiving, and here is a thanksgiving post before anything else:
Thanks for all the well wishes, congratulatory messages (where reading the letters "d" and "r" before my name still seems surreal!) and gifts, scattered around my mails, Facebook (what we'd do without it :P) and room, but nestled in my mind like a warm feeling within.
Thanks to all my uni-mates who studied, laughed, complained, worried and chilled out together with me; special mention to Ruth (who still hasn't tired of me after 7 weeks travelling together and 2 weeks intensive OSCE practice, and that's just this year!), and the housemates Siau Hui and Jamie, and Melvin (who put up with Ruth's and my antics and taught us so much more than we did), and the IMU gang!
Thanks to my gong gong and ma ma for making the trip up, and for my brother and sister who helped take care of them, especially my sister the photographer of the day, and most of all my parents' planning which facilitated the whole trip - not only that, but facilitated my whole journey in medical school up to this moment, and definitely beyond this.
Thanks to the One who conceived this plan for me and carrying me through it all, highs and lows, loyally keeping to His promises even if I didn't, and patiently teaching and correcting me through everything that happens.
And lastly, congratulations to all the doctors who have graduated this fine summer! With us M203-ians graduating, we can say that just about all of the cohort are now doctors, imagine that! It'll only be a matter of time before our 10-year reunion arrives, and won't it be interesting to see how we've gotten on with this degree of ours.
