Think about His Goodness...

In Exodus 33:18-19, Moses asks to see God's glory, and in reply, God says that he will show Moses His goodness. Now you don't answer a request for one thing with something else entirely, so God's goodness is really His glory. His power are majesty are great, His creation of the universe and all that is in it is marvellous, His plans for the workings of things perfect, but His glory lies in His goodness to us frail ones who have saddened Him and turned away from Him so many times, His goodness that forgives and continues to try and draw us to Him, His goodness that never fails to love and care for us, His goodness that led Him to give us redemption on the cross. How good our God is!

"The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion, and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished. He punishes the children and their children for the sin of their fathers to the third and fourth generation."
Exodus 34:6-7
